‘Kontrol ve Düşüş Üzerine’

Workshop Content

The workshop is designed as an experience consisting of different layers, primarily based on the relationship between the body and the camera. It is open to any participant wishing to explore the fields of photography and dance.

In the workshop, themes of control and fall will be explored, and both individual and collective compositions will be developed based on the concepts and phenomena derived from this research. The experience, which begins with movement and dance research, is structured under the headings of cinematographic movements, micro and macro falls, the composition of the body, and the composition that the body creates within the space, led by Şiva Canbazoğlu.

Afterward, under the guidance of Zeynep Demirhan, the relationship between the body, movement, and the camera will be examined. Topics such as perspective, composition, color, and framing will be addressed by looking at the interaction between the subject and the camera. The exploration of the manifestation of movement in photography will be investigated through both technical and poetic themes, focusing on capturing absolute and relative moments of motion using shutter speed to maintain the feeling of the fall and the instantaneous.

In this transparent workshop, participants can engage in their comfort zones by both taking photographs (using their own cameras or phones) and by dancing and being photographed.

Collectively, similar to a collage, we will design, disrupt, and redesign the space with bodies, movements, and colors. For those interested, different colored clothes will be available in the workshop, allowing for the creation of almost surreal compositions.
