“What goes on in a Birds Mind” is an experimental dance film that delves into the philosophical musings of existence, freedom, and the complex relationship between structure and liberation. Inspired by the flight of city-dwelling birds, the film explores the duality of freedom and restriction, and the conversation between the self and the external world.

The narrative unfolds within the mystical confines of an abandoned shoe factory near the Bosphorus, where two ethereal protagonists—angelic yet primordial—navigate the tension between structure and self. Their movements, both fluid and restrained, echo the eternal conflict between the body's imposed limitations and the soul's desire for transcendence.

As the dancers traverse the dilapidated space, their interactions are trying to reflect the dichotomy of the modern bird: one that chooses the vibrant chaos of the city over the tranquility of nature. Through this lens, the film contemplates why beings, capable of choosing freedom, often remain within the confines of imposed structures—be it society, time, or the self.

embodying the notion of the body as a vessel for the spirit’s experience on Earth.
